You see this: Xcode prints Developer Mode disabled To use … for development, enable Developer Mode in Settings → Privacy & Security. as the reason for an ineligible destination. Mobster says it as Developer Mode is off on your iPhone, and mobster doctor prints the Developer Mode line with a ✗.

Why it happens

iOS refuses to run development builds, including Mobster’s helper, until Developer Mode is on. Mobster never turns it on for you: it’s a switch on the phone.

Fix

  1. On the iPhone, open Settings › Privacy & Security › Developer Mode.
  2. Turn Developer Mode on. The phone restarts.
  3. After the restart, unlock the phone and confirm Turn On when it asks.
  4. Plug the phone in, keep it unlocked and choose Check again in Mobster for Mac, or run mobster doctor.

Check it worked

mobster doctor prints ✓ Developer Mode on once it’s on. Checked 26 Oct 2026 against Mobster 0.4.0. Back to Troubleshooting.
